| MDVA's Aggressive, hard hitting advocacy effort has served the membership of the association well. In January 2001, after years of battling it our in the legislative process, P.A. 417, of 2000, was enacted, exempting vended nonalcoholic beverages in sealed containers from Michigan sales tax.

The commitment and vision of the MDVA Board of Directors, the active participation of the MDVA membership, and the powerhouse of the day to day team in Lansing with GCSI have taken MDVA to the top of our game. In addition to killing many potential devastating bills every year, we have achieved the following legislative victories in past years:
