PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Michigan’s term limits law gave us 46 new members of the House of Representatives in January of 2009.  These new legislators came to Lansing with no experience in the legislative process, little understanding of most of the issues that will come before them, and no established relationships with which to build coalitions to get things done.  The sheer number of bills these new legislators will be required to vote on can be overwhelming.

While MDVA is only one of the hundreds of organizations in Lansing competing for the time and attention of these 46 new legislators to educate them on our businesses, our industry and our issues, MDVA is one of the most aggressive in lobbying on behalf of our members.  We have the strategy to succeed in this highly contentious environment and we have put together the plan to accomplish our goals.   MDVA is critical to your business and to the viability of our industry.
